AMERICAN-POLISH ADVISORY COUNCIL (APAC)

The American-Polish Advisory Council (APAC) was founded, with one of its major objectives being to perpetuate the legacy of Ignacy Jan Paderewski. APAC will publicize events which further Paderewski's philosophy: promoting freedom and democracy through education and the arts. Other objectives of APAC are to increase the voice of American Poles in politics and public affairs.

APAC is a bipartisan network of individuals with accomplishments in public service, government, business, academia and grassroots activism. It is designed to work cooperatively with existing Polish-American organizations and to demonstrate strength in numbers and solidarity of views. It is not in competition with any other group, but merely seeks to reinforce similar objectives. APAC is devoted to developing a stronger and clearer voice for Polish Americans in politics and public affairs.

www.apacouncil.org web site is a modern, comprehensive and growing source of relevant information and a point of registry for individuals, current and future voters, various organizations, institutions, and businesses. APAC's website contains information to educate and develop young leaders, the American electorate of Polish background and its many friends. It is a meeting place for information about campaigns and politics, a forum for the exchange of ideas and a true vehicle to promote participatory democracy.

APAC has conducted a number of seminars in Washington, DC, Hartford, CT, Chicago, IL, and New York, NY on items of interest to Polish Americans and ways of improving Polish American Relations The next Paderewski seminar will be held in the Boston area on Feb 19-20, 2005.       On July 1, 2004, APAC presented its Polish-American Agenda to officals at the White House. President Bush subsequently responded positively to the agenda in a letter received in September 2004. APAC's agenda was also presented to Senator John Kerry's Staff in September 2004 which was similiarly responded to in a positive manner.
